Alan Ferguson
Alan Ferguson obtained his MEng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in June 2019 from Queen's University Belfast, UK. His MEng thesis focused on the development of an extensible modular sensor system for use in bridge structural health monitoring (BSHM) research. In October 2019, he started his PhD research in the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science at Queen's University Belfast to investigate more efficient BSHM techniques for resource-constrained applications (low-cost, low-power, and limited data communications). His PhD research has included the design and implementation of more energy efficient (event detection and adaptive sampling algorithms) embedded sensing for BSHM; and the development of input-output BSHM damage detection and localisation methods.
